Marketplace: Games

Cool, rainy, dark fall days have arrived, which makes me want to bury myself in blankets, stay warm, and play games. Bananagrams continues to be a favourite, and I have a goal to learn Backgammon this season. Beyond these, here are some good-looking – and fun – games to try. (Luxe, too!)

The Friday Five: Puzzles

Over the holidays, I saw many real and Instagram friends share images of puzzles they were working on. I love that people do puzzles! As a kid, I loved them, but I don’t remember when I last did a puzzle. But what a great activity for cozy, snowy winter days.

phrenology puzzle, $15.76USD

pure white hell puzzle, $37.62CAD (this one has 1000 pieces; there’s a 2000-piece version, too)

monstera leaf puzzle, $14.87USD

gradient puzzle, $30.20USD

map puzzle, $49.95USD

Marketplace: Dish Drainers

January is a great time to tidy up, to organize, and to say goodbye to things you no longer use or no longer work. While I aim to do this regularly throughout the year, it doesn’t always happen, so January gives me the push I need to take on organizational projects and to assess what items I might need to keep things looking good and working hard.

One of the things that I think I’ll need soon is a dish drainer. I do like my current dish drainer quite a bit actually, but it’s looking worn these days. I wouldn’t be opposed to buying an exact duplicate, but I am also curious as to what other cool, effective designs exist. Here’s what I’ve gathered so far.

Alessi drainer and tray, $135.96USD

Tosca dish rack, $99.95CAD

Guzzini dish drainer, €37 (this is the one I currently own and really like)

Yamazaki dish rack, $45.50CAD

grass drying rack, $16.99CAD

Joseph Joseph dish rack, $48.51CAD

Marketplace: Holiday Cookie Jars

Are you a holiday baker? And where do you store all of your baked goods? If you’re looking for a festive container, maybe one of these will interest you. I think the cottage is especially sweet.

Santa cookie jar, winter cottage cookie jar, holiday tree cookie jar, Christmas cookie jar, Santa cookie jar, snowflake cookie jar

The Friday Five: Fancy Footwork

This Friday has come around very quickly. For no reason in particular, this week has just gone by in a flash. Waterloo is now covered in a blanket of snow, which, yes, is pretty, but reminds me that this is the first of many snowfalls from now until March. Sigh. It is also a sign that the holidays – and parties – are right around the corner. Anyone need a new pair of fancy shoes for such parties? If so, have a look at this stunning collection of sparkling footwear.
