White Cabana Wears Pink

#WhiteCabanaWearsPink: Pink Gifts for You!

Daniela was here recently sharing a list of sweet, pink gifts for children. She’s back today with a beautiful collection of items for you and your home (or gifts for others, of course).

Hello White Cabana readers! Here is my second pink shopping guide for #WhiteCabanaWearsPink. This post is full of fun items that you can use to decorate your home, to wear, to treat yourself, or to buy for someone else.

Have fun shopping!

Have you seen the variety of small appliances by SMEG that have popped up in the marketplace recently? I love all the colours and the retro vibe of SMEG’s collection. If someone you know loves pink, how about treating them to a nice SMEG Toaster as a house warming/Christmas/birthday gift?

This beautiful casserole dish makes a wonderful gift for a housewarming gift or for someone who loves to cook.

Want to add the very trendy blush colour to your living room or reading area at home? This throw is subtle, cute, and super cozy.

Or you can update your pillows by adding a pop of pink with these great covers.

Do you know someone who has just been diagnosed with or been treated for breast cancer? Or maybe because you know that 1 in 4 Canadian woman are at risk for breast cancer makes you want to wear an awareness pin like this one. Either way, this is a great pin and product that helps raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research.

Estée Lauder limited edition pin, $18CAD, Holt Renfrew

By now you must have seen a Sentaler coat online or in stores. Many Toronto socialites and British royalty have been seen wearing this Canadian brand. This coat has been nicknamed the “Kate” as Duchess Kate has worn it. This coat can be dressed up or down as it is a timeless design in a beautiful shade of pink.

coat, $1295CAD, Sentaler

Here’s a great dress from a favourite store of mine that can be worn dressed up or down

dress, $39.90CAD, Zara

With the unpredictable Canadian fall weather we experience, this packable jacket is a great in-between-season jacket because it can fit into your purse, it is cute, and it keeps you warm up to -5.

jacket, $88 CAD, Aritzia

There’s nothing like a perfect fit Greta Constantine dress in a beautiful magenta to get you holiday-ready! This dress is also great for weddings or a New Year’s Eve party!

Great Constantine dress, $995CAD, Andrews

I hope you enjoyed my pink gift guides in honour of breast cancer awareness month.

Until next time, happy shopping!

I love that Daniela included the Dansk casserole dish. It’s a classic style from Dansk and the lid is also used as a trivet. I have a larger version that’s great for making pasta and pasta sauce!

#WhiteCabanaWearsPink: For the Kids

I’m thrilled that Daniela has come to White Cabana today to share sweet items for kids – all in pink – for this post in my #WhiteCabanaWearsPink column. Daniela is a huge supporter and fundraiser for the Princess Margaret Foundation in Toronto. She regularly hosts events – bowling tournaments, poker nights, a gala – to raise funds! In fact, I’m heading to an event next month, and I have no doubt that it will be a success! Beyond her dedication to fundraising, Daniela is a two-time cancer survivor, and her strength and determination to fight this disease is absolutely remarkable. Most importantly, though, Daniela is a mom of two sweet little girls and she knows just how to spoil them – and many of the kids in her life – with the sweetest little things!

#WhiteCabanaWearsPink: Little Pink Houses

As you may remember, pink takes over some of the pages of White Cabana this month in my #WhiteCabanaWearsPink series. It’s one way that I can raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. Last weekend, I ran 5K (I ran! The whole 5K! I surprised myself, to be honest, as it’s been a really long while since I’ve run!), and I dressed in head-to-toe pink (as did just about everyone else in the run. It’s always an emotional day, and I’m so thankful for my family and friends who supported me and donated generously. Thank you.

Today, I’m bringing pink to the blog in one of my favourite ways – architecture. These pink homes and buildings are from all around the world, and I can imagine how many people walk in and out of these beautiful buildings each day to gather, laugh, share stories, eat, and support causes that are important to them.

White Cabana Wears Pink: Ballet Beauty

Each October, #WhiteCabanaWearsPink to raise awareness and funds for the Canadian Cancer Society. Part of my tradition is to inject a bit of pink onto the pages of my very white blog. So today I’m starting things off with absolutely beautiful images of ballerinas. The strength and grace shown in these images remind me of the strength and grace that my family and friends have shown as they’ve gone through cancer treatments, worked through pain, and persevered through so much stress.

I’ll be walking/running the CIBC Run for the Cure in Kitchener-Waterloo tomorrow. You can read about my motivation to participate here. If you feel inclined to donate even $5 to this cause, I’d appreciate your support.

Thanks, dear readers, for following along as #WhiteCabanaWearsPink this month.

#WhiteCabanaWearsPink: Interiors

We’ve had another great month of #WhiteCabanaWearsPink. I hope you enjoyed the weekly infusion of pink. As you know, I do this every October to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer awareness.

To end the series this year, I’m sharing some amazing pink coloured spaces.

Two for Tuesday: Pink and Brass

It’s #WhiteCabanaWearsPink month, which means, I can infuse pink into posts on days other than Monday, right? Yes!

Today I’m showing you two sweet designs that share elements of pink and brass. The first is a kids’ play kitchen and the second is a bathroom. You’ll quickly notice that the two photos have pink cabinets and brass globe lights in common.

#WhiteCabanaWearsPink: Pink Gifts for Kids

You’ve probably come to know Daniela, one of my contributors, for her thoughtful gift guides. Today, she’s caught the #WhiteCabanaWearsPink spirit and she’s curated a collection of great gift items for kids

***

Hi White Cabana readers!

It is an honour to write this post as #WhiteCabanaWearsPink for breast cancer awareness this month. I never thought I’d be the mom who loves pink, but then I had two daughters, and, to be honest, the dainty perfection of my girls in pink has made me gravitate to soft pink clothing when I shop for them.

Today I bring you some of my favourite pink items that are perfect gifts for any little ones in your lives.

Cuddle and Kind is a company that all about giving back! Each doll purchased feeds 10 children in need. The dolls are so well made and stand the test of my toddler dragging hers around everywhere. There are many dolls to choose from and for an additional fee the company provides a corresponding photo with an inspirational message.Charlotte the Dog featured here is adorable and soft pink. It’s the perfect thoughtful gift for a child in your life.

Next up are Mini Moc’s moccasins. Not only are these shoes well made (in Canada!) and stylish, the are, most importantly, are hard for kids to kick off! No more missing shoes! These soft pink mocs are subtle in color and go with so many wardrobe options.

Le MĂ©chant Loup is a Montreal-based boutique that sources beautiful toys, accessories, and clothing for children and babies. I especially love the messaging of this organic cotton sweatshirt by UK brand Organic Zoo.

Posh Peanut is a brand out of LA by a hair stylist turned mompreneur. Posh Peanut’s loungewear feels like butter, and the company has great mommy-and-me matching loungewear and robes. Many of the items sell out quickly, and pre-ordering is always recommended. How adorable is this pink ensemble? It’s made with soft Bamboo viscose.

Finally, I love the adorable collar on this perfect cotton dress from one of my favourite children’s clothing brands – Jacadi. Jacadi designs all of its clothes out of its Paris headquarters.

Hope you enjoyed today’s #WhiteCabanaWearsPink for breast cancer awareness.

If you’re anything like me, then you read Daniela’s gift guide and thought to yourself: “But where does she find these amazing brands?” I’m thrilled with this gift guide, and I’m going to keep it handy for future baby gifts that I will need to buy for friends and family!

For those of you who are still getting to know Daniela, you should know that she’s an incredible fundraiser. She’s a two-time cancer survivor (Hodgkin’s lymphoma and thyroid), and she has raised thousands upon thousands upon thousands of dollars for the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. She is a true #WonderWoman! I know Daniela is passionate about fundraising for cancer research, and I’m glad she was able to contribute to #WhiteCabanaWearsPink this year!

Thanks, Daniela! Let’s #conquercancer together!

#WhiteCabanaWearsPink: Happy Thanksgiving

After a weekend in Grey County with friends (#WhiteCabanaGoesToTheCountry), I’m enjoying a day in Toronto with family. Life is good. There’s a lot to be thankful for. Yes, even with all the not-so-great stuff that life has thrown at us, I am thankful. I hope the same is true for you.

I’m thrilled to share that I have already raised nearly $650 for the Canadian Cancer Society (see my personal page to donate). I’m grateful for family and friends who supported my 5K Run for the Cure and who continue to donate. I am appreciative of everyone’s generosity.

My #WhiteCabanaWearsPink series continues today. Since it is Thanksgiving, I’ve curated a collection of pink Thanksgiving table settings.

Event: #WhiteCabanaWearsPink 2018

As I told you last Monday, to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer, once again this October, #WhiteCabanaWearsPink. What does this mean exactly? Well, a few things. Let me share:

***

Donation of Ad and Affiliate Income

I will be donating all income generated from affiliate and Google ads this month to the Canadian Cancer Society. Click on all those sidebar ads and links to products (and buy stuff if you’d like). The more you click (and buy), the more that I can donate! Easy, right? I’ll try to highlight the affiliate links when I include them in my posts this month, so you can get extra click happy!

***

CIBC’s Run for the Cure

Yesterday, I ran (more ran-walked) 5K for the CIBC Run for the Cure in Kitchener Waterloo.

I’ve been doing this run on-and-off for the last decade or so, and this was my third year at the Kitchener Waterloo event. It’s a great event with that exudes support and positivity among all the emotions of sadness, gratefulness, and happiness. You can see more on Instagram at #WhiteCabanaWearsPink.

If you’d like to donate, please do so on my personal #WhiteCabanaWearsPink fundraising page. Every little bit helps, of course, so if you could forego a coffee or two this week and donate the money instead, I would be so darn thankful!

#WhiteCabanaWearsPink Series

Every Monday, #WhiteCabanaWearsPink here on the blog!

Yes, this blog has an all-white aesthetic. But every so often, it’s great to explore another colour. So, just like the last two years, every Monday in October, I’ll explore pinkness in the design world. It’s going to be fun!

Thanks in advance for your support, dear readers.

See the #WhiteCabanaWearsPink series from years past, if you’d like.

#WhiteCabanaWearsPink: CIBC Run for The Cure

As you may remember, each October, pink invades the white pages of White Cabana with #whitecabanawearspink. Why? Because October is breast cancer awareness month. There will be an influx of pink posts beginning on October 1st (with a bit of a head start today). Not only that, but I’ll be donating all the money earned from affiliate links and ads to the Canadian Cancer Society. As a reader, you can do your part by getting really click-happy (that is, click every darn link you see, and tell your friends to do the same). The more you click, the more I can donate!

Dainty Lion Floral

This Sunday, September 30th, I’ll be running (or run-walking) the CIBC Run for the Cure in Kitchener-Waterloo. Who will join me? Who will tweet with me? Who will run in their cities?

I run for so many people. My mom, my aunt, my cousin, my friends. Too many women, in fact. I also run for all the family members who support these women as they go through their tiring treatments. I run for all the people who support my fundraising efforts.

I am grateful to doctors working hard on their research, organizations that raise money, nurses who are there to educate and attend to patients, scientists who are advancing knowledge, and technology that can detect previously undetectable abnormalities.

I’ll be dressed in pink for #whitecabanawearspink. You can learn more about why I run – and donate, too, if you like – on my fundraising page.

Thank you, dear readers.
