Fashion: Clare Distenfeld’s Fivestory in Manhattan

I read about luxury boutique Fivestory in Elle Decor‘s October issue, and I was enticed to browse through its online collection. Fivestory, owned by Clare Distenfeld, is located on Manhattan’s upper east side and it caters to those looking for diverse high-end  brands including Roland Mouret, Alexander Wang, Nicholas Kirkwood, and Rosie Assoulin.

Before I share some of the shop’s collection, let’s just have a quick look at the sleek interior of the 5-story (get it?) townhouse.

Travel: One Fine Stay

Hi again. I’m back. Hope you all had a great week. Did you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? Spring? The International Day of Happiness? The last two weeks have been completely stressful for me, and I needed a full break from the blog last week, but I didn’t actually use my extra downtime for celebrations. Hmm…maybe I should have. I probably could use another week off, but I actually really missed blogging. So, I’m back at it, since it makes me happy to plan and write my posts and to connect with my blogging community.

Let’s start the week off with a bang, shall we? Today’s homes are all rentable places to stay via One Fine Stay.

Christmas: Stars at AOL Time Warner Center

I spent several holidays in Manhattan while my sister and her family lived there, and I always loved walking through the AOL Time Warner Center. The view is awesome and the star decorations are lovely. This photo is a few years old, but the stars – and the view – remain pretty darn special.

Design: Manhattan Home on Style Me Pretty Living

I’m thrilled to announce that my sister and brother-in-law’s Manhattan condo was featured on Style Me Pretty Living yesterday! Can you believe it? SMPLiving is such a well-curated, well-respected online blog and it is ridiculously cool that the SMP team decided to feature my family’s city condo. Crazy cool, in fact! Even though I knew the post was coming, I was still kind of surprised to see it online yesterday afternoon. Just. Too. Much. Fun.

Here are a few photos of their place, but I encourage you to read the full story and flip through all the photos. I’m so impressed with my sister and brother-in-law’s approach to art and design (and, yes, they like white too).

Thanks to Caroline Frost for taking such lovely photos and to Jacquelyn Clark for putting this all into motion.

Marketplace: C Wonder

I am so glad that C. Wonder opened up in the AOL Time Warner Centre this past fall. It’s now within walking distance of my family’s home and so, thinking selfishly, it’s going to be really convenient for me to pop in and see what’s new. In between my trips to the Manhattan, I do enjoying browsing the collection of home accessories (among everything else) online.
