Photography: Sleeping Vincent

Adele Enerson spent much of her time as a new mother photographing her sleeping baby Mila in dreamy, imaginative scenes. She’s since published the photos in a book called When My Baby Dreams. Now she’s on to styling and photographing her baby Vincent but since he’s not the most sound sleeper, she’s had to alter her approach. Adele uses her iPhone camera and then sketches with her Stylus pen.

No more tears

My surprise at seeing the new washable Logitech keyboard advertisements is probably as what you’re thinking right now:

All clean after a thorough soaking

This photo of the Logitech washable keyboard freaks me out

Years of spill fears have kept my keyboards generally safe but for two spillcidents: the first with water, the second with tea, and in both cases the laptop survived and the keys (and data) were fine. When it’s a laptop, the worst part of the exercise its abrupt suspended use over two days of stressful upside down drying, hoping that everything will be okay and strategizing on what to do if all is lost.

This one’s an external keyboard, so it won’t prevent anyone from ruining a laptop.

The Logitech keyboard not only resists the occasional spill but it welcomes a full-on soaking to clean out all the dirt and whatnot that might have lodged itself within. I think it’s a great idea for a keyboard that is visited by many hands during the day – especially post-bake sale sticky fingers.

Does anyone take lunch breaks anymore? This keyboard seems like a great idea to keep the keys from telling the story of donuts with sprinkles.

Welcome Corie and the Pop Up! Series

I am so utterly excited to welcome White Cabana’s newest contributor – welcome Corie!

As some of you may know, Corie is my older (sorry, I had to get that in there) sister and we lead quite different lives. While I’m working away on my PhD and loving life as a singleton in small-town London, Ontario, Corie is married to Jeff, is a stay-at-home mom to three boys (under the age of 4!), and lives in Manhattan. As you can imagine, Corie will bring a much different perspective to White Cabana and I’m thrilled that she has joined our team!

Corie will bring a new series to White Cabana called Pop Up! As you can probably imagine, life with three youngens is full of non-stop action. The Pop Up! series will allow Corie to drop in to the blog from time-to-time to share her experiences as a mom, a Manhattanite, and a traveller with our readers. She is just as crazy about white design as the rest of us so this couldn’t be a better fit.

So please join me in welcoming Corie to White Cabana (clap, clap).
