The Friday Five: Chicago

Greetings from Florida! I thought I’d take a break from working on my tan (I know, hard work, right?) to post a vacation update.

Although my friend Shannon and I are in Florida at the moment, our US tour actually began in Chicago. We spent four amazing days eating our way through the city. We also saw some incredible art and made time for shopping too (of course!). This was my second time in Chicago and I’m happy to say that I loved it as much as I did the first time around. The city has so much to offer and the people are so friendly.

Today I thought I’d share five of my favourite photos from the trip.

Chicago flower art

The Lion House at the Lincoln Park Zoo

Marilyn Monroe statue

The Rookery building – by Frank Lloyd Wright

Monument with Standing Beast by Jean Dubuffet

As always, thanks for reading White Cabana!

It’s a really cool sculpture in real life – and it’s huge!

I love Chicago! Have been a couple of times and am heading there in September…already have a reservation at Sable 🙂 Let me know if you came across any unique “must-do’s” during your time there!

We didn’t get to Sable but we did enjoy our meals at:
      Ralph Lauren Cafe/Bar
      G & T Fish & Oyster
      Girl & the Goat
      Pequod’s Pizza

I loved the zoo & the conservatory/greenhouse at Lincoln Park. The shopping is fab. And the Art Institute – definitely a must! On my last trip I did the Architectural boat cruise which I would recommend if you’re interested in learning about the history of Chicago.

I have no doubt that you’ll have a great time Heather!
