Fashion: Polka Dot Shoes

Hello dear readers! I’m back! Did you miss your daily dose of white? I did! I took an extended blog break because after I got back from Florida, I was so busy with start of school year (I don’t have kids, but I do teach at the university) and my book that my one week blog break turned into two turned into three. But all that is in the past. I’m back, and I’m eager to return to my blogger way of life.

So Labour Day has come and gone. Does this mean there’s no room for white until Victoria Day in May? I think not! My love of white continues year-round, and I am all for breaking the “no white after labour day” rule for fashion and home decor. There are so many shades of white that the colour is great year-round! Just yesterday, in fact, I proudly wore my white sneakers while I shopped around Cambridge with a friend. Embrace white, I say!

Speaking of white shoes, my jaw dropped when I saw these party shoes on one of my favourite fashion bloggers – Blair Eadie (of Atlantic Pacific). They sure are fun!

Here’s hoping these fun shoes are a sign of good things to come this school year!

Trivia Thursday: The Shirtdress

It’s highly likely that every woman has some version of a shirtdress in their closets right now. It’s an easy-to-wear dress for work and leisure, it’s flattering, and it’s available in a range of colours, fabrics, and patterns. The shirtdress is now a classic dress design that came to us in the 1950s from Christian Dior where the full skirt was paired with crinoline for a little extra pouf. The style – noted by collars and the shirt-style – was inspired by menswear at the time. Now, we see many clothing brands creating their own variations.

Design: Round-up of White

The only goal that I have for today’s post is to share a collection of images that have recently caught my eye. There’s no method. Just easy, breezy, inspirational images of design in white. Happy Wednesday!

Fashion: Spring Picks from Club Monaco

Club Monaco releases beautiful collections each season, but its light, airy, and white pieces in the spring/summer collections are particularly beautiful. I rarely get to a Club Monaco store because we don’t have one in the Waterloo region, but when I do, I try to pick up a piece or two that will be a little something special in my wardrobe. This skirt and this skirt, for example, have served me well over the years!

The Friday Five: Easy Breezy at Anthropologie

After spending a few days in the North Carolina sunshine, then coming back to some warm(er) weather in Waterloo, I’m definitely ready to exchange my boots and bonhomme coat for some lighter layers.

And Anthropologie‘s current collection of easy pieces has got me thinking that I need to inject (even more) white into my wardrobe this spring/summer.

Fashion: White on White on White

Summer is the absolute perfect time to dawn white (on white on white on white). New-to-me blogger Judith Jones’s (Joie de Jude) approach to fashion is completely inspiring. I think she pulls pieces together so beautifully, and there’s nothing fussy or complicated about her outfits. Have a look:
