It’s been a while since I featured Minted – one of my absolute favourite stationery store. Since my birthday is less than one month away (hooray!), I thought it would be the perfect time to feature five essentials that set the backdrop for a pretty celebration.
rice paper globe, $8
white petal fan, $5
white paper cups, $4
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
This Sunday is Father’s Day. Does this mean that you’ll be spoiling your dad with a crafty tie greeting card or golf accessories? I’ve given my dad a variety of gifts over the years, some of which I rounded up in this post (just in case you’re looking for a last-minute gift idea). I’ve been a student forever, so naturally my Dad has a collection of university t-shirts, sweatshirts, and mugs from a variety of Ontario universities. It’s been a really convenient gift to buy since I could shop in between classes. Luckily, dad loves them (or pretends to) and wears them all the time.
My dad seems to like anything that has the letter “B” on it (to match his first name, of course). Because of this, I’ve given him loads of “B” presents like the ones below (though not necessarily in white – my dad likes colour).
Another go-to gift idea for the B-man is wine. Red. Any brand, price point, and country of origin will do.
A final successful go-to gift for my dad has been anything and everything related to the BBQ.
I know my dad is reading this post, so I can’t reveal what he’s going to get this year. Hint – it’s something from the list above! Why ruin a good thing, right?
Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Father’s Day to those who celebrate!
Last year my mom shared with us her favourite websites. I’ve asked her to do the same this year. Here they are…
My French Country Home (design)
Mom says that she always reads “those two forsure” and she reads the following ones “mostly every day”.
Love and Lemons (food)
The Pink Pagoda (design)
La Dofina (lifestyle & design)
Pretty Pink Tulips (lifestyle & design)
After my mom told me about these blogs, our conversation went something like this:
Mom: Do you know Maitai’s Picture Book? She writes about Hermès.
Mom: Ines de la Fressange is doing a collection for Uniqlo, did you know?
Mom: If you go to an older post, you’ll see. Preppy Empty Nester is funny. And do you read Tone on Tone Antiques?
Me: No.Mom, do you still have time to read White Cabana?
Mom: No answer. (she’ll deny this, I’m sure)Â Manger is another one.
And there you have it – the 2nd edition of My Mom’s Favourite Blogs! What’s that they say about “Mom knows best”? Go and have a read through these blogs and let me (and my mom) know what you think!
It’s my sister’s birthday today. Yahoo! She loves anything and everything that has Nutella in it.
Happy Birthday Corie!
