Hot on Jordana's trail

Since Jordana’s travels have been “crossing” the USA this week, I thought it would be fun to showcase her trajectory via the ever-fun typographic city neighbourhood maps known as Ork Posters by artist Jenny Beorkrem.

Jenny’s story about how she started to make these is so cool: back in 2007 she was looking for a good typographic map of Chicago- another one of Jordana’s favourite cities- and couldn’t find one. Read Jenny’s interesting need-turned-business success story here.

Toronto’s Telegramme Prints & Custom Framing– a lovely print shop with locations in Leslieville and on Ossington) offers the prints for $25 a pop, which is so perfect for a just-because gift to a friend.

Jordana’s travels to the USA this week probably started in Toronto:

And I think she then headed straight to Boston:

Jordana ended her trip in lovely and second-hometown to her, NYC!

Ha ha ha…Johanne you never fail to surprise me with your posts! Thanks for tracking my travels via Jenny Beorkrem’s art. My life seems to be all “Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego” at the moment. Remember that show? Anyway – my travels this past week were amazing and stay tuned for some photos of the amazing things I saw.

p.s. It was NYC first and then I bussed it (via the very comfy Bolt bus) to Boston. The 4-hour trip only cost $17!

The bus was definitely affordable (but not white). I was so surprised! A return bus trip from Toronto to London is over $50 (and that trip is only 2 hours each way).

    I’m Craving a little NYC.

    Sigh

My dearest husband thinks there are better places to spend our time/money…since we’ve been to NYC many many times….

I say additional places to spend more time. More money. Ha ha!!!

Any hotel recommendations for NYC. We did the w near the park last time. I think it was a w hotel…during us open 2010…..I’d like to stay walking distance to the Brooklyn bridge this time….

      Hey Shannon,
You can never be in NYC too many times. Each time is just a little bit different. And if you take your little boys then the trip is going to much different from previous visits! Lucky for me my sister is near Central Park and I just never get bored of it! It’s great for kids – what with the ponds, the playgrounds, the trails, the trees…lots to do! The Brooklyn Bridge but it’s too far from the park (and a lot of other things) for my liking.

Check out what fellow TOian and cheese-obsessed blogger and Globe and Mail columnist friend o’ mine Sue was eating in NYC last month. She’s such a great writer, too. I want to eat her site!
