Books: What Are You Reading?

I’m one of those people who has about five (or more) books on the go at once (both fiction & non-fiction). Who’s with me? Over the last few days I finished reading three books: Sophie Kinsella’s I’ve Got Your Number, Seth Godin’s Poke the Box, and Steig Larsson’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. It’s gratifying to come to the end of a book because it feels like I’ve learned something new. It’s also exciting because coming to the end of one book means that I’ll get to go to the beginning of another one.

I’m reading Ian Rankin’s “The Impossible Dead”, Patrick DeWitt’s “The Sisters Brothers”, and “Super Sad True Love Story” by Gary Shteyngart. I’m enjoying them all 🙂

I cannot read more than 1 book at once…I also can’t stop reading a book once I start it – I just always think it will get better. haha I am on book 3 of the Hunger Games trilogy!

Oooh…I’ve heard good things about the Hunger Games trilogy but I’m not sure it’s my style.
I can leave non-fiction books half-read while I go on to something else but I have to go back to them eventually. It’s a bit harder to do with fiction. Thanks for sharing Heather!

Jim, Shannon & Shannon – you’ve added new books to my reading list! I’ve not heard of a lot of the ones you mentioned. Are you happy with them?

p.s. I love that there are so many different Shannons who visit White Cabana!

    p.p.s. My book reviews:
I’ve Got Your Number wasn’t my fave Sophie Kinsella novel but it did make me laugh here and there. I’ve been a fan of SK for so long that I don’t think she’ll ever let me down.

Poke the Box – Again – I’ve been a fan of Seth Godin for a while so his books instantly make my reading list. I like the way he thinks about – and presents his ideas about – business.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo – yes – the book was good. It really picked up the pace in the last chunk. I think the characters were well-developed and well thought out. Story line was interesting too – with a twist here and there just to spice things up.
